New residential project coming to Sturgis

A ribbon cutting and groundbreaking ceremony for Dolan Creek Estates will be Friday, July 10, at 4:00 pm at the site located at Dolan Creek Road and Pine Glenn Drive. The public is invited to attend and meet Dolan Creek LLC developers to learn more about this exciting residential community.

The project consists of 34 acres and 106 lots. Phase I construction of 48 lots began in June. Individual lots start at $35,250. Outside home builder and home owner participation is encouraged. Home builders will begin construction of 10-15 single family residential homes (2-4 bedrooms, 2-3 bathrooms, double/triple garages) selling from $170,000 - $210,000. Finished homes will be available in late summer/early fall of 2015.

The City of Sturgis provided TIF financing for the project to Rapid City developer Dolan Creek LLC. Dolan Creek LLC member Brad Hammerbeck states, “The development at Dolan Creek Estates is the result of cooperation between the City of Sturgis and the Sturgis community. Plans for the residential development have been under consideration for several years. Following the release of the 2014 housing study contracted by the City of Sturgis, the Sturgis Economic Development Corp (SEDC) and the SD Housing Development Authority, developer Dolan Creek LLC finalized their plans to proceed.
