SPEARFISH -- A special unveiling of Spearfish’s newest development, The Village at Creekside, was held on Wednesday, Sept. 27. The Village is located north of Spearfish, on the corner of North Avenue and Yukon Place, adjacent to the Creekside Apartments. The unveiling included an overview of the development plan, prospects and opportunities available to existing and new businesses.
“This new addition is an exciting opportunity for Spearfish, especially with the high demand for office and retail space,” said Kory Menken, SEDC Executive Director. “The development will not only create economic opportunities for our community, but will complement our ongoing quality of life initiatives.”
The Village at Creekside is located along Spearfish Creek. At nearly seven acres, The Village will encompass a fun, comfortable and welcome destination for locals and visitors. Local developers Vic Uttke, Wayne Klein, Rick Furnish, Joe Jorgensen, and Jim Benning say this location is perfect for a multi-use village where people can enjoy the natural beauty of Spearfish Creek while shopping, working, residing, playing in the commons, having coffee, or dining on the patio overlooking Spearfish Creek.
Connectivity is a priority of the project, and the group hopes to partner with the City of Spearfish, and its Parks and Recreation board, to develop a walking/biking path along the creek to not only access The Village but connect to the existing path system that runs throughout town.
“We seek to make The Village at Creekside a fun, comfortable and welcoming destination for locals and visitors alike,” said Furnish.
