At its annual meeting in January, Spearfish Economic Development (SEDC) unveiled the community’s plans to construct a new 40,000 square foot “spec building” in the Spearfish Business & Industry Park.
Although 10,000 square feet of the building has already been leased to TMone for its call center operations, SEDC is eager to start marketing the remaining unfinished space to existing companies which may be interested in expanding and/or relocating to Spearfish.
Bryan Walker, SEDC’s Executive Director said, “the new building will have a very flexible design and will be well-suited for office, distribution, and manufacturing businesses. The building will have an attractive architectural design and we will have ability to subdivide the space in 10,000 square foot increments to meet the needs of future tenants.”
SEDC noted that the project could not have moved forward without the vision and commitment of the city’s leadership. “Spearfish continues to experience positive momentum throughout the community and we want to position ourselves for future growth and success,” said Walker. In addition to helping our local businesses grow and prosper, we want to be a leader in attracting new businesses and jobs to the region. Having a spec building in place will make Spearfish more marketable and better equipped to swiftly respond to the needs of business.”
