Art Alley
Art Alley, a one-block stretch in downtown Rapid City, has become a colorful and creative outlet for the region’s graffiti artists. It’s a movable visual feast that changes every time you visit.
Arthouse
Framing and printing with a gift, stationery, and art-supply shop that features local artists. A large fine-art gallery space unlike any in the Black Hills featuring contemporary, globally curated artwork by local and regional artists, as well as pieces by international artists.
City of Presidents
This attraction features life-size bronze statues of all former U.S. presidents, from George Washington to Barack Obama, and is located in downtown Rapid City.
Homestake Opera House
The opera house was built in 1914 by Phoebe Hearst, wife of mining magnate George Hearst, as a gift to Lead’s miners. The Homestake remains a lively entertainment centerpiece in downtown Lead.
Racing Magpie
Racing Magpie, a Lakota-centric arts and culture organization in Rapid City, South Dakota. Our goal is to uplift Lakota artists and culture bearers by providing accessible studios, a Native art gallery, and diverse arts-and-cultural programming, supported by collaborative partnerships and a dynamic, creative space for community connection.
Theatre 605 (Black Hills Playhouse)
A 350-seat professional summer stock theater in the heart of Custer State Park. The playhouse is affiliated with the University of South Dakota Theater Department.
The Dahl Arts Center
Located in Rapid City, the Dahl Arts Center gives voice to a variety of creative endeavors.
The Matthews Opera House
Located in Spearfish, the venue stages a variety of music and theater events year-round. The first-floor gallery is a showcase for visual artists.
The Monument
Located in Rapid City, the Monument hosts everything from high school basketball tournaments and rodeos to the Black Hills Symphony, nationally known performers, and Broadway musicals.
Wall Drug
Established in 1931 as a humble pharmacy, Wall Drug has grown into a 76,000 sq. ft. western-themed shopping complex spanning an entire city block that attracts over 2 million visitors every year.
